These infection control resources have been designed to fill the need for simple, point-of-first-use infection control information. They are not designed to be a comprehensive infection control manual. Practitioners seeking detailed information should refer to their agency infection control manual or speak directly with their infection control practitioner.

This manual has been developed by Victorian Rural Infection Control Practice Group (RICPRAC) to meet an identified need for resources for hospital Infection Control Practitioners when formulating policy and procedures.The Rural Infection Control Practice Group (RICPRAC) is a collaborative network of Infection control consultants with regional responsibilities in the five non metropolitan DHS regions of Victoria, and one representative from DHS.
This generic manual has been developed for Health Care Facilities to use and/or implement as appropriate.
